Alexander Gerst

Alexander Gerst is not an actor or director, but rather a German European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut and geophysicist. He was selected as an ESA astronaut in 2009 and flew to the International Space Station (ISS) twice, first in 2014 on Expedition 40/41 and again in 2018 as the commander of Expedition 57. He has a background in geophysics and volcanology. Gerst has received various honors for his contributions to space exploration, science, and technology, including the Order of Merit of Baden-Württemberg.
