Anja Schneider
Actor
Anja Schneider is a German actress from Altenburg who has been visibly combining theater, film, and television since the 2000s. After studying at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin, she worked at the Maxim Gorki Theater, among others, and has been a member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin since the 2016/17 season. Her stage work there has also been recognized: in 2005, she received the Dr. Otto Kasten Prize as Young Actress of the Year, followed in 2010 by the Theater Prize of the Friends of the Maxim Gorki Theater. On screen and on TV, Schneider often plays precisely drawn characters in stories with a clear contemporary relevance. In FERIEN (2006/2007, directed by Thomas Arslan), she plays Sophie and is part of an intimate family drama. Many years later, she shows a different side of herself as Caro Schreier in SCHLAMASSEL (2023, directed by Sylke Enders): a drama that combines personal breakdowns and social repercussions in a German provincial story. In addition to these two titles, Anja Schneider has appeared in other productions that have sharpened her profile in both cinema and television series. These include “Tschick,” “Kokon,” “Mission Ulja Funk,” and “Lieber Thomas,” as well as recurring appearances in “Tatort,” “Polizeiruf 110,” “SOKO Leipzig,” and “Charité.” This selection shows an actress who is reliably present in ensemble and leading roles and whose work continues consistently across theater, film, and television.

Jealousy and biting jokes about old wounds start slowly, but build until bald-face confessions and hand-to-hand scuffles take over.
