The Greek filmmaker Artemis Chalkidou, born in 1993 in Thessaloniki, completed her film studies at the local Aristotle University. Her short film "Ready?" (2018) won an award at the Drama International Short Film Festival. She gained international attention with her thesis film "White Dwarf" (Asimenios Nanis). The film premiered in the Berlinale Shorts competition at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in 2024.
