Bernhard Wenger

Director

Born in Salzburg in 1992, director and screenwriter Bernhard Wenger studied at the Vienna Film Academy in Michael Haneke's directing class. His short films have screened successfully at numerous international festivals and received various awards. In particular, his work *Excuse Me, I'm Looking for the Ping-Pong Room and My Girlfriend* (2018) garnered significant attention, winning accolades such as the Austrian Film Award for Best Short Film and being shortlisted for the Academy Awards. His later film *The Handover* (2022) also received recognition, winning the Vienna Short Film Award at the Viennale. The filmmaker is currently developing his first feature-length film.
