Bibiana Beglau

Born in Braunschweig in 1971, actor Bibiana Beglau is a formative figure in German performing arts, both on stage and in front of the camera. After training at the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg, she achieved her breakthrough with Volker Schlöndorff's film *The Legend of Rita* (2000). For her performance in this work, she was honored with the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the Berlinale, an award she shared with Nadja Uhl. Her extensive theater work has taken her to renowned stages such as Vienna's Burgtheater and Berlin's Schaubühne. Her further accolades include the Adolf Grimme Prize and the German Television Award, and she recently appeared in the series *Gestern waren wir noch Kinder* (2022).
