Bruno Solo

Bruno Solo, born Bruno Lassalle on September 23, 1964 in Paris, is a versatile French actor, director, producer and screenwriter. He began his career as a television presenter at Canal+, where he presented programs such as “Top 50” (1991–1993) and “Le plein de super” (1993–1994) together with Yvan Le Bolloc'h. He chose the stage name “Solo” as a tribute to the character Han Solo from “Star Wars”. Bruno Solo became known to a wider audience through the successful comedy series “Caméra Café” (2001-2004), which he developed together with Yvan Le Bolloc'h. In the series, he played the role of Hervé Dumont, a scheming purchasing manager. The success of the series led to two feature films: “Espace Détente” (2005) and “Le séminaire” (2009), in which Solo appeared as both an actor and co-director. In the animated film JOSEP (2020) by director Aurel, Bruno Solo provided the voice of the gendarme. The film tells the story of the Catalan artist Josep Bartolí and has won several awards. Another milestone in Solo's film career is the comedy series “La Vérité si je mens!” (English title: “Lying Is Not My Strong Suit”), in which he played the role of Yvan Touati. The films, directed by Thomas Gilou, were released in 1997, 2001 and 2012 and enjoyed great popularity. In addition to his film projects, Bruno Solo can also be seen in various television series. In the crime series “Deux flics sur les docks” (2011–2016), he played the police officer Paul Winckler. Since 2017, he has also hosted the historical documentary series “La Guerre des trônes: La Véritable Histoire de l'Europe” on France 5, in which he presents significant events in European history. Bruno Solo has earned a permanent place in French entertainment through his versatility and commitment, and remains a defining figure in both cinema and television.
