Ceci Chuh
Actor
Ceci Chuh (born 1991) is a German actress who grew up in Berlin and taught herself filmmaking. Her early, particularly influential cinema work is DIE UNERZOGENEN (2005-2007, directed by Pia Marais), in which she plays Stevie, the central character in a coming-of-age story. The film marked her breakthrough and is also discussed in reviews for Chuh's presence as a very young leading actress. She set a second focus with UMSONST (2013/2014, directed by Stephan Geene). There she plays the leading role of Aziza; the film was shown in 2014 at the Berlinale's Forum Expanded. She gained international visibility with SIN AND ILLY STILL ALIVE (2014, directed by Maria Hengge), a drama set in Frankfurt's Bahnhofsviertel district, in which Chuh plays the title role of Sin. The film won the award for best regional feature film at the 2015 Lichter Filmfest. Her other work includes Von Maedchen und Pferden (2014, directed by Monika Treut) and Bube Stur (2014, directed by Moritz Kraemer), which are documented as confirmed cinema titles.
