Deborah Kaufmann, born on March 23, 1970, in Kleinmachnow, is an established German actress who has appeared in numerous film, television, and theater productions since the 1990s. As a child, she appeared in the DEFA film Der Mann, der nach der Oma kam (The Man Who Came After Grandma). She completed her acting training from 1986 to 1990 at the renowned Ernst Busch Acting School in East Berlin and has since appeared on major stages such as the Berliner Ensemble. She came to prominence in the tragicomedy FAMILIENFIEBER (2014, directed by Nico Sommer) as Birgit – an honest, humorous and sensitive drama about (un)rest in a family, which was improvised and received great acclaim at festivals. She also appeared in Mondscheinkinder (2006). Her television roles include guest appearances in series such as Tatort, SOKO Leipzig, In aller Freundschaft – Die jungen Ärzte, and in popular formats such as Dark. Deborah Kaufmann impresses with her naturalness, emotional depth, and versatility – both in intimate short films and in long-running series.
