Delphine Girard is a Canadian-Belgian film director who gained international recognition with her feature film debut THROUGH THE NIGHT (fr.: QUITTER LA NUIT). The film, which is based on her Oscar-nominated short film “Une Sœur”, was released in 2023 and deals with the effects of a traumatic night on the people involved. The main roles are played by Selma Alaoui, Veerle Baetens and Guillaume Duhesme. Girard previously attracted attention with the short film “Une Sœur” (2018), which was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Short Film. She studied directing at INSAS in Brussels and, after graduating, worked on several projects, including the short film “Monstre” (2014), which won awards at various festivals. THROUGH THE NIGHT premiered at the Giornate degli Autori at the 80th Venice International Film Festival and won the Audience Award.
