Elia Zaharia, born on February 8, 1983 in Tirana, Albania, is a versatile Albanian actress and former singer. She is the daughter of Gjergj Polikron Zaharia, a teacher, and Yllka Mujo, a renowned actress. She began her artistic training at the Jordan Misja School of Art in Tirana and continued it at the National Conservatory of Bordeaux and the University of Paris VIII. In 2020, Elia Zaharia played the role of Miranda in the drama MY LAKE, directed by Gjergj Xhuvani. The film tells the story of young Kristo, who lives on the shores of Lake Prespa and works as a marijuana smuggler. She previously appeared in “Lule të kuqe, lule të zeza” as Ana Golemi in 2003 and in the role of Zena 1 in “Honeymoons” by Goran Paskaljević in 2009. In addition to her film career, she has appeared in several theater productions at the National Theater of Albania, including “The Good Person of Szechwan” (2011) and “A Midsummer Night's Dream” (2013). Elia Zaharia is known for her multilingualism; she speaks Albanian, French, English and Italian fluently. In addition to her acting career, she is involved in various cultural projects and charitable initiatives in Albania.
