Born in Lugano in 1990, the Swiss-Italian filmmaker Elisa Carrera Fumagalli graduated in directing from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. Her graduation short film, "Una come te" (A Girl Like You) (2018), was honored at the Alice nella Città section of the Rome Film Fest. Previously, she had already gained experience as an assistant director on films such as "Don't Be Cruel" (2015). With her first feature film, "L'età d'oro" (The Golden Age), she was invited to the Cineasti del presente competition at the 2024 Locarno Film Festival.
