Alice Diop, born in 1966 in Aulnay-sous-Bois, is a French filmmaker and documentary filmmaker. She gained international recognition for her films, which often deal with themes such as migration, identity and social inequality. Her feature film debut, "Saint Omer" (2022), was awarded the Silver Lion - Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival and represented France at the Oscars. Previously, she directed documentaries such as "La mort de Danton" (2011) and "Nous" (2020), which won the Best Film Award in the Encounters section at the Berlinale.
