Florian Bartholomäi
Actor
Florian Bartholomäi has been one of the most distinctive faces in German cinema since the mid-2000s. With Kombat Sechzehn and later Reine Geschmacksache, he established himself early on as an actor who can portray sensitive characters just as convincingly as dramatic ones. In LEIF IN CONCERT - VOL. 2 (2019, directed by Christian Klandt), he is part of the diverse bar ensemble and demonstrates his affinity for independent cinema. CHASING PAPER BIRDS (2020, directed by Mariana Jukica) continues this line with a portrait of Berlin nightlife that shows him in a polyphonic cosmos of characters. An important early work is the short film PIETAS (2007, directed by Matthias Vom Schemm), in which he takes on a haunting role in an intimate family chamber play. In addition to these films, Bartholomäi regularly appears in television productions, including Tatort, SOKO Leipzig, Die Füchsin, and Die Bergretter, which demonstrate his presence in serial storytelling. Other cinema projects such as Werk ohne Autor (Never Look Away) and Der Vorleser (The Reader) expand his profile to include literary adaptations and sophisticated dramas. His achievements have been recognized with numerous awards: in 2007, he received the Max Ophüls Prize and the Undine Award for Reine Geschmacksache (A Matter of Taste). In 2009, he received the German Television Award and the Hessian Television Award for his role in the television film Bloch: Schattenkind. These accolades mark the constants of a career characterized by versatility, continuity, and a clear signature in the arthouse and television sectors.
