Born in Paris in 1944, Françoise Hardy was a formative figure in French pop music and an internationally known singer, songwriter, and actor. She rose to fame in the early 1960s as an icon of the yé-yé movement, particularly with her hit "Tous les garçons et les filles" (1962). Alongside her musical career, she also appeared in several films, including Jean-Luc Godard's "Masculin Féminin" (1966) and John Frankenheimer's "Grand Prix" (1966). For her musical work, she was awarded the Grande Médaille de la chanson française in 2006, among other honors. Her work influenced generations of artists, and her final album, "Personne d'autre," was released in 2018.
