Gabriel Almaer, born in 1995, is a filmmaker studying fiction directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. His short film "First Snow" (Erster Schnee, 2023), which he co-wrote with Luisa Ricar, has achieved significant success. The work was honored with the German Short Film Award in Gold and was nominated for the 2024 Max Ophüls Prize. Additionally, the film was selected for the Next Generation Short Tiger program, presented during the Cannes Film Festival. His earlier directorial work includes the short film "Zweifel" (2021).
