Helen Fraser

Born in Oldham, England, in 1942, actor Helen Fraser has had a versatile career in film and television. After training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), she made a name for herself in the 1960s. Her early, significant works include appearances in John Schlesinger's classic film *Billy Liar* (1963) and Roman Polański's psychological thriller *Repulsion* (1965). She is particularly remembered by a wide audience for her role as prison officer Sylvia Hollamby in the successful British series *Bad Girls* (1999–2005). Her acting work has also included numerous other television productions and stage engagements.
