Actor
Henriette Confurius, born on February 5, 1991, in Berlin, is a German actress who has become known for her critically acclaimed performances in German film and television productions. She comes from a culturally minded family—her mother is a Dutch theater actress and her father is a writer—and she grew up partly bilingual. In the feature film AMEISEN GEHEN ANDERE WEGE (2011, directed by Catharina Deus), Confurius plays the young Kyra, a withdrawn girl with a traumatic past who ends up in a youth home to find her place in life. The film, which premiered at the International Film Festival in Hof, is characterized by a subtle balance of realism and symbolic imagery. Confurius' intense portrayal of a young woman on the verge of change was particularly highlighted as a central narrative element. In the feature film ICH ICH ICH (international title: Second Thoughts, 2021, directed by Zora Rux), she plays Natalia, the embodiment of the protagonist Marie's inner thoughts. The film uses surreal visual ideas to make feelings and self-doubt visible. Confurius' performance lends emotional depth and expressiveness to the introspective tableaux. Henriette Confurius has also appeared in numerous award-winning productions, including the historical mini-series Tannbach – Schicksal eines Dorfes (2015–2018) in the role of Anna von Striesow, for which she won the national Bambi award in 2015. Other projects include the fairy tale film Allerleirauh (2012) as Lotte, the biopic Die Gräfin directed by Julie Delpy, and the war drama Das kalte Herz (2016), in which she shone as Lisbeth. Confurius became known through her performances in critically acclaimed German productions. Notable films in her career include Die Fremde (2010), Beloved Sisters (2014), and Linie 41 (2015). Henriette Confurius captivates audiences with her natural presence, her ability to switch between emotional vulnerability and inner strength, and her charisma in a variety of genres, from fantasy fairy tales to psych
