Henry Hübchen was born on February 20, 1947, in Berlin and made his mark on German film and television as a distinctive character actor. He played significant roles in Alles auf Zucker! (2004, directed by Dani Levy), for which he was honored with the German Film Award. In AM HANG (2013, directed by Markus Imboden), he gave a convincing performance as Felix in this psychologically dense love triangle thriller. In the German-Polish tragicomedy POLNISCHE OSTERN (2011, directed by Jakob Ziemnicki), he played the idiosyncratic grandfather Werner Grabosch with great heart and humor. In the television film Der Pfarrer und das Mädchen (2015, directed by Maris Pfeiffer), he played Max Polke alongside Rainer Hunold in a moving drama about guilt, forgiveness, and morality. Henry Hübchen's versatility ranges from profound arthouse films to popular roles in cinema and television.
