The Viennese filmmaker Hugo Kovács, born in 1998, studies directing at the Vienna Film Academy. His 2022 medium-length feature film 'Ich muss dir was sagen' (I Have to Tell You Something) garnered significant attention at festivals. For this work, he received multiple awards, including the Max Ophüls Prize for Best Medium-Length Feature Film and the Diagonale Prize for Best Short Feature Film. His earlier works include the short film 'Am Grat' (On the Ridge) (2020), which was created during his studies.
