James Villiers

The British actor James Villiers (1933–1998) completed his training at the renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His acting work often focused on aristocratic, sometimes snobbish or villainous characters, which he brought to life with his distinctive voice. His film engagements include appearances in Roman Polanski's psychological thriller `Repulsion` (1965) and the James Bond film `For Your Eyes Only` (1981) as Chief of Staff Bill Tanner. Villiers also appeared in the literary adaptation `The Remains of the Day` (1993) and was the unseen voice of the character Sir Arnold Robinson in the British sitcom `Yes Minister`.
