Lyna Khoudri (born October 3, 1992 in Algiers, Algeria) is a French-Algerian actress who has become a fixture in European cinema in recent years. Raised in France, she began her career in theater before attracting attention with her first film roles. She gained international recognition with the drama Papicha (2019, directed by Mounia Meddour), in which she plays the young student Nedjma. The film was celebrated at the Cannes Film Festival and submitted for the Oscar for Best International Feature Film. For her performance, Khoudri won the 2020 César Award for Most Promising Actress. Another important film in her career is LUNA (2017, directed by Elsa Diringer), in which she played the role of Chloé. The film was shown at several festivals and also made her known to a wider audience in Germany, including at the French Film Week in Berlin. Khoudri has also appeared in major international productions, including The French Dispatch (2021, directed by Wes Anderson), in which she starred alongside stars such as Timothée Chalamet, as well as Novitiate (2017) and Haute Couture (2021, directed by Sylvie Ohayon).
