Maria Cavalier-Bazan

The filmmaker Maria Cavalier-Bazan, born in 1996 in Caracas, Venezuela, first studied Audiovisual Arts in her hometown. She continued her path in Germany, where she completed a degree in directing at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. She gained national attention with her medium-length feature film "Tierra de Leche" (2024). The work was screened at the Max Ophüls Preis Film Festival, among others, and earned her a nomination for the prestigious FIRST STEPS Award in 2024. Her earlier work includes the short film "Patu" (2018).
