Canadian actor Maxim Gaudette, born in 1974 in Sherbrooke, Québec, graduated from the Conservatoire d'art dramatique de Montréal in 1997. His repeated collaboration with director Denis Villeneuve brought him particular attention. For his leading role in Villeneuve's film *Polytechnique* (2009), Gaudette was honored with both a Genie Award and a Jutra Award for Best Actor. He also took on a central role in Villeneuve's internationally acclaimed drama *Incendies* (2010). His versatile work is also evident in films such as *An Eye for Beauty* (2014) and the thriller *Confessions* (2022).
