Monica Merlin is a Brazilian director and screenwriter who holds a Master's degree in Screenwriting from the renowned Cuban film school EICTV. Her short films have gained recognition at international festivals; for instance, 'The General's Tea' (2019) premiered at the Festival de Gramado, where her later film 'Señor' (2022) also competed. Her work 'About the Void' (2020) was selected for the Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse. The filmmaker is currently developing her feature-length debut, 'The First Death'.
