Nana Rebhan
Director
Nana A. T. Rebhan is a documentary film director, cinematographer, and author living in Berlin. She studied at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB) and previously studied film, television, and theater studies, journalism, and sociology at the Free University of Berlin. After completing her studies, she worked for several years as a freelance author, including for Arte, and regularly reported on international film festivals such as the Berlinale, Cannes, and Venice. Her films often deal with urban spaces, social dynamics, and the people who shape these places. In Berlin: Hasenheide (2010), she portrays the Berlin park of the same name and shows it beyond media clichés as a diverse, lively urban space. Her documentary film “Welcome Goodbye” (2013/14) is dedicated to the tourism boom in Berlin and its impact on residents, visitors, and the city's self-image. In her work, Rebhan combines a precise, observant eye with social curiosity and attaches great importance to making voices visible that are otherwise rarely in the spotlight.
