Paul Lux is a German actor who has made a name for himself through roles in film and television. He began his career after training at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin, from where he quickly made the leap into cinema and series productions. He became known to an international audience primarily through the Netflix series “Dark” (2017–2020, directed by Baran bo Odar), in which he played the role of Bartosz Tiedemann. The series was a worldwide success and contributed significantly to his fame. In addition to this great success, he appeared in other television formats, including “Alarm für Cobra 11” (2017). In cinema, he gave a convincing performance in the film ICH ICH ICH (2018, directed by Zora Rux), in which he played a central role. With this work, he demonstrated his versatility and continued to take on challenging roles in German arthouse cinema. He had previously appeared in “Steig. Nicht. Aus!” (2018, directed by Christian Alvart), a gripping thriller starring Wotan Wilke Möhring. In 2020, he appeared in “Futur Drei” (directed by Faraz Shariat), which won an award at the Berlinale and was one of the most talked-about German independent films of the time. His other work includes appearances in short films and series productions such as “Tatort.” This range demonstrates his flair for different genres and his ability to portray convincing characters in both television formats and cinema. For his role in Futur Drei, he and the ensemble were honored with awards when the film won the Teddy Award at the Berlinale. Paul Lux is thus part of a young generation of actors who are shaping German cinema and television and are also gaining attention outside Germany through international projects such as Dark.
