Pia Hierzegger

Born in Graz in 1972, Pia Hierzegger works as an actor, screenwriter, and director. She is a formative member of the Graz-based theater collective Theater im Bahnhof. She became known to a wider audience through her performances in films such as *The Bone Man* (2009), *Wild Mouse* (2017), and the Styrian *Landkrimi* crime series. For her screenplay for the film *Die Notlüge* (2017), in which she also played the leading role, she was awarded the Austrian Film Award. Hierzegger made her directorial debut with the documentary film *Wofür es sich zu leben lohnt* (2016).
