Robert Stadlober, born on August 3, 1982, is an Austrian-German actor, musician, and audiobook narrator. He appeared in film and television as a child and grew up to become a versatile talent. He became known in the German film scene through roles in theater, cinema, and TV, and later also as a producer. In the satirical science fiction film ANHEDONIA – NARZISSMUS ALS NARKOSE (2015, directed by Patrick Siegfried Zimmer), Stadlober plays the main character Franz Fidel Freudenthal. In this dystopian work, he embodies the son of an aristocrat living in a media-dominated future who suffers from emotional numbness. The film metaphorically correlates with social issues such as consumerism, narcissism, and alienated communication. In the mockumentary comedy SPARSCHWEIN (2025, directed by Christoph Schwarz), Stadlober plays a character who straddles the line between activism and self-reflection. The film ironically highlights privilege, climate scepticism and life during the climate strikes. Stadlober carries the project with dry humour and charisma. Robert Stadlober also appears in TAXI – NACH DEM BESTSELLER VON KAREN DUVE (2015, directed by Kerstin Ahlrichs). He plays Rüdiger, a philosophy fan who, as a taxi passenger in Hamburg at night, encounters the alcohol- and meaning-seeking life of the protagonist Alex, played by Rosalie Thomass. His supporting role was praised for its comedic subtlety. In addition to these films, Stadlober has appeared in successful productions such as “Sommersturm” (2003, directed by Marco Kreuzpaintner), ‘Krabat’ (2008, directed by Marco Kreuzpaintner) and the episodic film “Schwarze Schafe” (2006, directed by Oliver Rihs). He is also a singer in the band Gary and label manager of Siluh Records, has released several music albums and worked as a voice actor, including as the main character Jim Hawkins in the German version of “Der Schatzplanet” (2002).
