Rüdiger Vogler

The actor Rüdiger Vogler, born in Warthausen in 1942, began his career in theater, including at the Theater am Turm in Frankfurt. His long and intensive collaboration with director Wim Wenders became formative for his film career, making him a prominent face of the New German Cinema. He gained international recognition as the lead actor in Wenders' road movie trilogy, consisting of "Alice in the Cities" (1974), "Wrong Move" (1975), and "Kings of the Road" (1976). He demonstrated his acting range in numerous other film and television productions, receiving a nomination for the German Film Award for his role in "Neurosia" (1995). Vogler's versatile body of work includes roles in auteur cinema as well as in international projects like István Szabó's "Sunshine" (1999).
