Sander Joon

Director

Sander Joon is an Estonian animation director and a graduate of the Estonian Academy of Arts. His short film *Sierra* (2022) gained international attention and was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. For this work, he also received awards at renowned festivals such as AFI Fest and the Ottawa International Animation Festival. His earlier works include the multi-award-winning short films *Sounds Good* (2018) and *Velodrool* (2015), which established his style of surreal humor and playful design.
