Simon Garshasebi

The German-Iranian filmmaker Simon Garshasebi completed his directing studies at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). His graduation film, “In deinen Armen” (In Your Arms, 2021), received significant acclaim and was awarded the German Short Film Award in Gold and nominated for the FIRST STEPS Award, among other honors. Garshasebi, who was a Berlinale Talent in 2022, went on to direct his feature film debut. The film “Layla” premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlinale in 2024.
