Srđan Dragojević

The Serbian film director and screenwriter Srđan Dragojević was born in Belgrade in 1963. He graduated in film and television directing from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in his hometown. His internationally acclaimed works include the films *Pretty Village, Pretty Flame* (1996) and *The Wounds* (1998), which critically examine the Yugoslav Wars. For his satirical tragicomedy *The Parade* (2011), he received accolades including the Panorama Audience Award at the Berlinale. One of his more recent films, *Heavens Above*, premiered at the Locarno Film Festival in 2021.
