Tizza Covi is an Austrian film director, screenwriter and actress known for her work in documentary and feature films. She often works with her partner Rainer Frimmel. Some of her notable works include “La Pivellina” (2009), “The Shine of Day” (2012) and “Mister Universo” (2016). Her film VERA (2022) is an empathetic portrait of actress Vera Gemma that impressively blurs the lines between documentary and fiction. In THE PHOTOGRAPHER IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA, Covi and Frimmel shed light on the life story of Austrian photographer and actor Walter Saabel, offering a reflective look at art and authenticity. Covi and Frimmel have received awards for their films, including the Europa Cinemas Label at the Cannes Film Festival and the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival.
