Willem Dafoe is an American actor known for his versatile roles in film and television. In the film NEW ROSE HOTEL (1998) by Abel Ferrara, he plays the role of X, an industrial spy who, together with his partner Fox, played by Christopher Walken, tries to poach a scientist. The film is based on a short story by William Gibson. In the documentary WILLIAM FRIEDKIN - HOLLYWOODS ENFANT TERRIBLE (2018) by Francesco Zippel, Dafoe appears as himself and shares his experiences and impressions of the renowned director William Friedkin. Dafoe's other notable films include “Platoon” (1986) directed by Oliver Stone, in which he plays Sergeant Elias, and “The Last Temptation of Christ” (1988) by Martin Scorsese, in which he plays the role of Jesus. In Sam Raimi's “Spider-Man” (2002), he plays the antagonist Norman Osborn, also known as the Green Goblin. In the animated film “Finding Nemo” (2003), he provides the voice of the fish Gill. In Sean Baker's “The Florida Project” (2017), he impresses as motel manager Bobby, a role that earned him an Oscar nomination. Willem Dafoe has established himself as one of the most outstanding actors of his generation, thanks to his impressive range and intensity.
