Jean-Claude Lauzon's feature debut is a gritty crime thriller which won a record 13 Genie Awards in every single category where it was nominated.

Marcel (Gilles Maheu), just released after serving a traumatic prison sentence, hopes to reconcile with his dying father (Roger Le Bel).

Still suffering from being raped in prison, Marcel encounters a homosexual cop involved with drug smuggling who presses him for information and sex. Marcel fights his way out of the cop's lecherous advances and is reunited with his father.

Lauzon died in a plane crash at age 43 and is considered one of the most important Canadian filmmakers: "Few films in the history of cinema have moved so successfully across emotional maps." (The Globe and Mail)
