A young man tells his story and gives testimony of the collective fate of a nation oppressed by poverty, police repression, and corruption.

Seven years ago, one night in May, Rafael came home from work to find that people he did not know had come looking for him. He fled without looking back—from that moment on living as though that night never ended.

Following the internationally acclaimed film ARÁBIA, Brazilian filmmaker Affonso Uchôa presents his new take on social injustice, experimenting with narrative forms and semi-oblique juxtaposition.

"The Brazilian director’s spiky featurette, a long night’s allegory of marginalisation and cruelty in his home country, confirms him as one of the sharpest political filmmakers in Latin America." (BFI)
