They risk it all: the rock band Arikain, formed by Afghans living in Iran, dreams of performing on a stage one day.

When they get the chance to play at a music festival in Bamyan province, Afghanistan, where the giant Buddha statues were destroyed by the Taliban in 2001, they are willing to risk everything. On the way to Bamyan, the band must survive many dangers.

The members of Arikain, Akbar, Soori, Mohammed and Hakim, are all children of Afghan immigrants who grew up in Iran. For Afghans, the situation in Iran is challenging enough and since they play Western music with a female lead singer, there is even greater difficulty.

The moments of joy are contagious, but the sobering reality is always lurking. An honest film about four young people who must break with tradition to express themselves.
