During the final prayer of the German Catholic Bishops' Conference in 1991, one of the most spectacular protest actions takes place.

When the arch-conservative Bishop Dyba moves to ban an ACT-UP ("AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power") demostration in front of the cathedral, the activists demonstrate inside the church!

Filmmaker Jochen Hick captured the events in his short film WELCOME TO THE DOME: Demonstrators are beaten out by churchgoers and also some of the present press representatives are injured in the scuffle.

In addition to a prime time report on the Tagesschau, the protest action also brought legal consequences for Bishop Dyba, whose behavior resulted in a Streisand effect.
