In her masterfully edited and immensely entertaining directorial debut, renowned film editor Bettina Böhler portrays this exceptional artist in his entire spectrum.

The film focuses Schliingensief as a typical "family person", whose work is equally devoted to his interpersonal relationship with his parents in Oberhausen and to his relationship with Germany. The film traces Schlingensief's evolution: from a young filmmaker in an artistic frenzy to a theatre rebel in Berlin and Bayreuth, to a best-selling author who, shortly before his death, was invited to design the German Pavilion in Venice.
