While the clubs are still pounding out the music, Berlin is emerging from the twilight. A note is stuck to a lamppost: "For one minute. Please, just stand here in silence and look at the sky, and contemplate how amazing life is." A lone drunk stops and follows the instruction... A not-so-young "Man with Van" wakes up in the morning hungover next to last night's flirt and it dawns on him that it's slowly time for a change. An original Berliner decides at a bizarre WG casting to no longer take part in all the nonsense. In a Turkish café, a young woman confesses her unplanned pregnancy to her mother, which immediately becomes a political issue for the guests sitting around.

We meet them all in the fourteen funny, sad and bizarre episodes of Mariejosephin Schneider's debut film NOTES OF BERLIN. The stories were inspired by real note messages found in the streets of the city and published by Joab Nist on his cult blog.
