The people of this small town are convinced that wolves have returned, and alarmed local politicians are now targeted for manipulation.
The people of this small town are convinced that wolves have returned, and alarmed local politicians are now targeted for manipulation.
Uwe has been rehearsing intensively with his amateur theater group for the play “Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf.” But their PR stunt in the forest backfires and the newspaper reports on the return of the wolf; the citizens are on high alert.
A campaign team is determined to seize the moment and use the issue of “security” to restore the weakened politician Friedman to her former glory. And Uwe? He sticks to his premiere, after all, it promises to be a full house. On the evening of the performance, everyone claims the stage for themselves, creating a dangerous mixture of fairy tale and reality.
FINAL CONSEQUENCE is a pointed satire about myths and the abuse of power. Director Jonas Baumann shows how fears of the unknown are exploited to gain political control. The escalating dynamics between Uwe, his passion for theater, the frightened townspeople, and the politicians reveal with comical sharpness how quickly fiction can become a threat.
The precise dramaturgy with clear arcs of tension and the minimalist staging create a gripping atmosphere. The film does not dazzle – it forces viewers to look and invites them to think about responsibility, influence, and the consequences of seemingly harmless ideas.
The short film premiered at the Bundesfestival junger Film, followed by a broadcast on MDR Kurzfilmnacht.
