Raphael Clamer

Raphael Clamer is a versatile actor from Basel who studied at the Neue Münchner Schauspielschule from 1993 to 1996. After permanent engagements at the Nationaltheater Mannheim and the Schauspielhaus Zürich, Clamer worked as a freelance actor for theater, film, and television as well as a speaker for radio plays and audio books. He has performed at renowned theaters and festivals such as the Vienna Burgtheater, the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen, the Salzburg Festival, the Festival d'Avignon, the Opéra National de Paris and the Theater Basel. Since 2013, he has worked closely with the Berlin opera company Novoflot. He also regularly collaborates with the well-known director Christoph Marthaler. Raphael Clamer has also appeared in productions by renowned directors such as Sven-Eric Bechtolf, Luc Bondy, Jan Bosse and Andreas Kriegenburg. His impressive stage and screen presence and his wide-ranging artistic spectrum make him a major figure in the German-speaking theater and film world.
